CEAS Industry 4.0/5.0 Discussion

In May 2021, as part of my role as facilitator for the MME EAB (Mechanical & Materials Engineering External Advisory Board) I was invited to participate in a CEAS (College of Engineering and Applied Science) survey conducted by the Industry 4.0/5.0 Institute planning committee.  As part of my response I asked to be contacted for further discussion.  This discussion is coming up in August 2020 and I plan to present the webBook Initiative raising two questions:

- Could webBooks be used to advantage to develop/present Industry 4.0/5.0?

- Is there interest in pursuing the webBook Initiative itself in the context of Industry 4.0/5.0?

Reviews & Tweaks

During March and April 2021 there were family reviews and tweaks.  FAQ was added and inclusion of UCIT was identified as a critical success factor.  Some flavor of IP contribution emerged as a possible critical start point for continued work.  A reviewer raised a sobering question: "Do webBooks solve a problem that anybody has?"

Early Work

Work on the webBook Initiative began January 2021 with a suggestion from Art Koehler to propose a webBook for PLM engaging Siemens and others in its creation.  This pivoted in February 2021 to webBook You and then webBooks-UC.  The webBook Initiative title emerged after a review meeting with Art late February 2021.

Welcome!

Welcome to the webBook Initiative.

I hope you both enjoy and find value in webBooks and the webBook Initiative.
